Calling themselves “BocceAbilities” a team of four from the posAbilities Employment Service teamed up to participate in a local fundraiser. On August 16 in beautiful North Vancouver, they participated in the Down Syndrome Research Foundation’s annual Bocce Ball Fundraiser. The DSRF has become a close partner of our Employment Service in recent months, as they worked together lately to organize an event titled “Good Business” to educate small business owners about the benefits of inclusive hiring.

Every year the Down Syndrome Research Foundation holds this fun filled event to raise awareness for Down Syndrome and to further support the services that DSRF offers. Taking up the Bocce ball challenge this year were Employment Services Manager, Kalena Kavanaugh, along with Employment Specialists Anita Parti, Melissa Tobin, Liane Lowden, and the team mascot Cabot. The fun filled day consisted of a wonderful lunch, great music, 4 scheduled games of Bocce Ball, a silent auction and many door prize. Our team also got to meet the awesome families, friends and supporters of the DSRF.
